Hello!

And welcome to halkantner.com a site focused on:

Storytelling Environments: the integration of space and message. My name is Hal Kantner and my value to design teams is in the ability to visualize the drivers of client organizations and make them visible, approachable experiences with a sense of place inside enterprise facilities.

Much of my career has been focused on thoughtfully designed environments that build identity, communicate messages, invite connections and enhance experiences.

My days are typically spent scripting and storytelling, illustrating and communicating. I utilize print and pixel, art and artifact, to create experiential environments that are audience specific, on-brand, and of-culture. What I’ve learned from my work informs this site’s three main thrusts: my design philosophy, my creative process, and exemplary project outcomes, as each relates to storytelling environments.

My design philosophy is offered in The Journey To Experience Design. Philosophy and example projects are both depicted in the publication Modern Cave Painting. My methods for programming and presenting storytelling environments are inventoried in Modern Cave Painting Toolkit. My programming and conceptual design process, successfully deployed in over 100 projects, is described in Possibilities Sketchbooks. Occupancy specific environments are documented in On-Brand Healthcare Environments and Planning+Design: Executive Briefing Centers.
