the journey to experience design

Spatial experience in three time zones: past tense
And still ahead is the post experience: where ‘post’ is both a verb and a preposition. Revisiting the now past spatial experience because it’s been recorded by you, posted, liked, tweeted, tumbled upon. And if the interaction was a success you might desire to re-experience the spatial event again in the future: revisiting your digital posts — post visit.
Revisiting the spatial environment you experienced in the past.
All three time zones of the dimensional experience were filtered through the digital space in your handset / tablet / wearable implant… because even in the presence of the space, it was your smart app that told you to “be sure to look up — there is a beautiful ceiling”.
The app age augments
Now the welcome screen at the building entrance will synch with the screen in your pocket. The supercomputer everyone holds in their hand allows you to frame, filter, enhance, embellish any moment in time or experience in space — including our buildings. We can now augment our reality and physical space will be no exception. For real-world environments to keep up with experiential expectations they will need to supply augmented, supplemented, mediated sensory input. Did Mr. McLuhan foresee architecture as a medium for the message?
