the journey to experience design

Digital repertoire joins dimensional repertory
A sixth sense now resides in your pocket: your spatial sensing supercomputer. The historical experience of space — the analog Skim, Scan, Study progression of audience interest — is now joined by the digital progression of Search, Sense, Sign-In.
Messages and spatial setting: Skim, Scan, Study
The historical experience of an environment was dedicated to the present moment — the experience of space and the absorption of spatial content happened in-place and of-the-moment. Yes, we took a polaroid to recall the eventfulness, but the memory was analog and neural — not yet digital. The offer of messaging and content was accepted and consumed by you on the spot. These were dimensional experiences dependent on architectural design, interior design, graphic design, industrial design. You had a skim, scan, study depth of interest and response.

Skim
You could take in the spatial experience with a passing glimpse and make your decision about offering further attention. Perhaps it was scaled so it imprinted with just a glance. The equivalent of a headline that asks for further engagement with the space, with the content, with the experience. This is the setting that announces.
Scan
You are engaged by the space, or intrigued by it, and you donate further time and attention. The context of space, presentation of media, and the content of messaging appeal to your interest. You are on the cusp of becoming an audience to experience. This is the setting that informs.
Study
You are engaged by the space, immerse with the story, offer your time, invest your attention. Perhaps there are artifacts to handle, kinetic actions to trigger, storylines to chose from, narration to follow. This is the setting that educates, entertains, influences, indoctrinates.
